The family lounge has a log burner, a TV and a corner sofa making it great for movie nights and lazy wet days in, while the snug is a more grown-up sitting room that's perfect for a bit of peace whilst reading a good book. There’s also the convenience of a downstairs WC.

If you need to do some remote work during your stay, there’s fast broadband and WiFi, a laptop-friendly office area and even a glass dry erase board should you need it.

Local Info

The neighbourhood

The cottage is located in the village of Andoversford near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire and is part of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There’s great food, including Sunday lunch, available at the village pub that has a lovely outdoor dining area, whilst the Frogmill is about a half hour’s walk across the fields. There are plenty more places to eat in the local villages. Andoversford also has an olde worlde store where you can pick up essentials, a post office and a village green.

Andoversford is also a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds and some of its most beautiful villages, including Bibury, Bourton on the Water and the Slaughters. If you want to walk, you’re in the right place. Put your boots on and begin along the disused railway line that runs through the village and takes you into the rolling hills. You can also explore by foot or by bike along the Cotswolds Way.

The cottage is also a great place to stay if you’re attending a wedding at either the Frogmill hotel or the exclusive event venue called The Barn at Upcote Barn, which are both a several-minute drive away.

Meanwhile, the large spa town of Cheltenham is about 6 miles away and has a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. The Cotswolds Farm Park isn’t too far and is a great hit with children, whilst family-friendly attractions in the wider Cotswolds area include Sudeley Castle, Pittville Park and Hidcote Manor Garden.

For local produce, there are many places to shop, but you should pop into Daylesford Organic, about 8 miles away, and if you’re a fan of Jeremy Clarkson then head over to his Diddly Squat Farm Shop in Chipping Norton.

Getting around

A car is recommended for travelling to the property and ease of getting around. There is driveway parking for one car and another parking space in front of the cottage. Public transport in the village is limited, however, there is a bus stop with services running to Cheltenham and the surrounding Cotswold villages. Meanwhile, Cheltenham Spa and its train station, are about a 20-minute ride in a taxi.
